CIRKO SAPIENS – an educational activity of Teatronas, intended for those who want to try, see, learn about or better understand contemporary circus.
CONTEMPORARY CIRCUS WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN | The project is implemented by the Arts Printing House
Age group: 1st – 12th grade
During the workshop, participants are introduced to the genre of contemporary circus, seeking answers to the questions: how does contemporary circus differ from traditional circus? How to become a circus artist? When to start learning circus? What are the circus disciplines? They are also briefly introduced to the possibilities of combining circus with different art forms, and before starting physical activities, a warm-up is done with the help of games, which even circus professionals use. Once warmed up and ready, children travel to get acquainted with such circus disciplines as juggling and acrobatics. With the help of practical exercises, the first tricks are learned with the help of trainers, which reveal the benefits of circus in the educational process of students, for example, the promotion of creativity, self-confidence and others through playful and engaging activities. Finally, children can show what they have learned, perform tricks like real circus artists, thus improving communication and empathy between peers.
The workshop is led by CIRKO SAPIENS teachers: Kęstas Matusevičius, Aino Mäkipää
